Notes

  • S4311 - There were ca. 3,000 individuals in the 1930s, 1,500 in 1940 and 250-380 in the early 1980s (627). Based on a survey in 1999, 69 estimates 220 and INC, whilst 65 gives 227 and DEC. In 1999, there were 85 breeding pairs (321).
  • S8610 - 350 (Franchimont et al. 2010); 443 post breeding in 2013. 113 breeding pairs laid eggs in 2013 (C. Bowden, in litt. 2014 based on information from Souss-Massa National Park, Oubrou & El Bekkay, 2014). A range is given to cater for inter-annual fluctuations and allow for potential winter mortality since 2013 post breeding figure.
  • T6500 - Major past declines, but trend in last 5-10 years has been overall increasing (eg 227 in WPE5) despite some fluctuations.
  • S9083 - Post-breeding numbers.
  • T7179 - An unquantified decline is indirectly estimated to have occurred over the last three generations. The Moroccan population has been stable since 1980 (BirdLife International 2017) although they report increasing numbers during the last decade.
